We admit it: after being 2-0 up in the original 4th Round FA Cup tie, only to see their glory fade away as Wigan hit two goals to level the score at 2-2, we expected Wigan to beat Notts County in the replay at the DW Stadium and ease through to play Fulham – our Quest team – in the 5th Round.
However, such as the unpredictability of the FA Cup, Notts put in a solid display to beat their so-called illustrious Premier League opponents 2-0 last night to set up the tie at Craven Cottage on February 14th. It’s the first time since 1992 that County have got this far in the competition, and they are the lowest ranked team still involved.

The teams who we’ve followed on our Quest have so far been cursed. In each round our team have been knocked out, meaning we’ve had to switch our allegiance to their victors.

But in Round 5, with Fulham proving a tough cookie to crack at The Cottage, they’ll be expected to conquer the League Two side. But you never know in football, particularly the FA Cup; don’t take anything for granted, especially with our curse looming ominously above West London.
